Let's break it down. Everyone knows that best #lighting = best photos. You might think oh well I need a super sunny day to get a photoshoot done. But often people don't realize that TOO MUCH light can actually be weird on a photo, make people blink and look chinky in pics!. So playing with shadows is a good idea sometimes as well! The perfect condition for a good photo is one where the light is perfectly diffused throughout, so a cloudy day is perfect before a sunny day to get a photoshoot done.
If there is too much light, and there's a ton of trees that create shadows, the shadows will look way more harsh therefore the photo will give more of a intense contrasty look.
So if you're not going for dramatic intense contrasty look, it's better to either shoot on a cloudy day or use a light diffuser and you'll get a really nice equal tone on your photos. I linked a good one here below that's found on #amazon.
